Life certainly does have a habit of getting in the way of checking some tasks off my list, and while I read this book earlier this year, I haven’t been able to sit down and write out this review…until now 😉.

My Thoughts:

If you are in the market to try something different, in a really good way, I would recommend Hometown Murder from fellow cozy mystery writer, Misty Lynn. The story starts off with Sydney, our main character, coming home to Gettysburg in order to recoup from a work-related injury. And just like many readers can imagine, being back home definitely has its good and bad points (which was handled quite nicely in my opinion). Though most people, her family included, think she’s an army nurse, only her aunt knows what she truly does in the military. But when an old friend is murdered, she uses her unique skill-set from being a counterintelligence agent to solve the crime, along with the help from her aunt’s knowledge in explosives. Will she be able to figure out who the killer is and keep her secret life from reaching the light of day?

So ride along on this fun adventure, and enjoy a few laughs, as you meet some of her aunt’s spunky chickens during the investigation! The second one in this series, Mischief in the Morgue, is near the top of my TBR list and I’m looking forward to reading it.
